Ivyland, PA, April 23, 2003 -- ACT/Technico (http://www.acttechnico.com), a
leader in embedded real-time systems development and integration, announces availability of the AppliPak/TimeSys, a complete VMEbus based "Boot and Go" application CPU solution for use in a true
Real-Time Linux environment. A ruggedized system will be showcasing this bundle at this week's Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco in the TimeSys booth, #512.
The AppliPak/TimeSys is an
integrated single board computer coupled with a pretargeted TimeSys Linux operating system. It provides a significant time and value benefit to the user. It consists of a VMEbus CPU from Motorola or Concurrent
Technologies, with TimeSys Linux/Real-Time and device drivers. When paired with integrated embedded mass storage, the AppliPak assembly completes the embedded CPU solution. The platform is delivered fully
tested and ready to execute user applications.
TimeSys Linux/Real-Time turns Linux into a full-featured, royalty-free RTOS that delivers true real-time behavior. It provides a full Linux application
program interface, and through it's reservations technologies can extend traditional resource allocation models to the system processor and network interface, providing new dimension in application control.
The AppliPak is available in standard or ruggedized versions. The standard version bundles a Single Board Computer from Motorola and Concurrent Technologies, TimeSys Linux 4.0 with Real-Time performance, boot
file and drivers, choice of mass storage devices, and other options such as Transition Modules or Break Out Boards (BoBs), Ethernet, and TimeSys' GUI based TimeStorm Tools for integrated development
environment (IDE). The AppliPak is fully tested before shipment.
The ruggedized versions of the AppliPak provide the same options as above, but add as required conformal coating, extended temp range,
and parts lifecycle management. A VxWorks based AppliPak is also available, which includes MBIT (Built-In Test) with a web based GUI interface.
AppliPaks are currently shipping; pricing varies according to CPU, component and RTOS selection. For more information, visit the website, call
