ACT/Technico announces the first and only 6U Single Slot Network Attached Storage Blade in the embedded computing industry.
PICMG2.16 brought Ethernet onto the backplane and now RAIDStor brings NAS inside the chassis. RAIDStor eliminates single points of failure when implemented in dual star architecture and reduces costs by replacing direct attach storage with a RAID protected NAS storage solution.

RAIDStor is a network attached storage solution (NAS) representing the leading edge in highly available (HA) embedded systems designed for maximum data security, preservation and integrity. RAIDStor is a leap in technology over conventional box level RAID solutions. RAIDStor is a building block that eliminates difficult file synchronization issues required when implementing HA systems.

When a storage failure occurs, RAIDStor sends an email notification while it maintains data integrity and updates on the redundant blade / drive(s).  Hot swap capability ensures minimal mean time to repair (MTTR) then RAIDStor automatically re-syncs the new storage hardware while the top level application continues in full operation.

Build a system that allows you to explore the possibilities of network centric computing and 6U network attached storage with the ACT Technico RAIDStor™ Development Kit. Select the payload that suits your requirements and we'll integrate the complete package.

The system contains everything needed to establish a complete Embedded Network Attached RAID solution with dual star topology in a PICMG 2.16 or VITA 31.1 enclosure; two RAIDStor™ storage blades, two fabric switches, a 2.16 or VITA 31.1 System/Node slot Pentium or PowerPC M single board computer plus all required rear transition modules (RTMs).
To further ensure maximum effectiveness, the system includes a remote support package allowing users to leverage ACT Technico's unparalleled experience and know how in the embedded computing industry.

The web browser interface makes managing the RAIDStor as easy as an appliance – from anywhere in the world. With the look and operability of a web page, RAIDStors web browser allows the user to:

  • Monitor system status; primary / secondary blade status, synchronization level, synchronization status, system bandwidth, system uptime, network link status.
  • Halt and reboot blades after repair and replacement
  • Edit email notification targets
  • Log in to the system with password protection
  • Control protocols such as FTP, Telnet , relogin and others
