Point-to-point links can be created without any external hardware: simple crossover cables create a direct high
bandwidth serial connection. Connections support full duplex operation, providing an aggregate 20Mb/sec data highway. Note that when used in a point-to-point configuration, or using an Ethernet switch,
there is no contention and thus provides deterministic operation.
