    Point-to-point links can be created without any external hardware: simple crossover cables create a direct high bandwidth serial connection. Connections support full duplex operation, providing an aggregate 20Mb/sec data highway. Note that when used in a point-to-point configuration, or using an Ethernet switch, there is no contention and thus provides deterministic operation.
    Device drivers are available for many common operating systems. They work with local protocol stacks ensuring plug-and-play integration to existing applications.
