•Basic Level 1
– Off-the-shelf chassis
– Off-the-shelf boards
– Solution controlled by simple quotation
– Bid prepared by Regional Sales Manager
– No special documentation other than Work Instruction
– Standard operating system install
– Users manual delivered with system
•Semi-Custom Level 2
– Modified COTS chassis
– COTS boards
– Device driver may be added or modified
– Requirements obtained verbally or with specification
– Solution controlled by quotation or brief specification
– Engineering services required
– Some design and build drawings required
– Deliverable documentation, typically users manual, block diagram
•Custom – Level 3
– Requirements developed from customer specification or statement of work
– Always requires Statement of Work
– Technical proposal and cost proposal
– NRE required
– System architecture collaboration with concept presentation
– Technical interchange
– Chassis may be custom
